The Break Is Over — Arbiter Has Arrived

From the moment I first opened one of my uncle’s long boxes filled with comics from the '80s and '90s, I was hooked. Those pages sparked a lifelong passion for storytelling and illustration.

As a kid, I spent countless hours creating my own characters, sketching out adventures, and sharing my ideas with anyone who would listen. I knew then that this was what I was meant to do. But like many dreams, mine was put on hold. Life moved forward, and the time I once had for creating slipped away.

Years later, everything changed when my daughter—an artist and storyteller in her own right—discovered my old sketchbooks. As we flipped through the pages together, I felt that old fire return. She asked, “Where’s the rest?” And in that moment, I realized I had unfinished business with my passion. I didn’t stop. I just took a break.

Now, the break is over.

Arbiter is the culmination of decades of imagination, refinement, and love for the medium. It’s the first chapter in a universe built from the ground up—characters, worlds, and stories that have lived in my mind for years are finally coming to life on the page.

This is just the beginning.

Story

"Though I Plunge Down the Deepest Dark, Thine Light is Deeper Still"

Reality is breaking. Cracks are forming in the fabric of our world, and monsters are slipping through. The only one who can stop it? A broken young man named Christian Myrrh—a street fighter with a haunted past and a destiny he never asked for.

When his mentor vanishes, Chris is pulled into a hidden war between ancient beings called Arbiters and extradimensional invaders known as Breakers. Armed with forgotten powers, sacred edicts, and mystical artifacts, Chris must rise—or watch the multiverse fall.

Street Fighter

Christian Myrrh is a storm barely held together by discipline. Beneath his stoic exterior lies a deep well of pain, anger, and confusion. He’s fiercely loyal, slow to trust, and constantly searching for meaning in a world that feels broken. He masks his fear with sarcasm and his grief with fists.

Raised in Holloway, the crumbling heart of Caligo City. Chris has always seen things others couldn’t: flickers in the air, shadows that move on their own, and fractures in the fabric of reality. Orphaned at a young age due to his parents’ substance abuse, he spent his early years in shelters, hiding his terrifying visions from the world.

Everything changed when he met Joshua, a mysterious man who not only believed Chris but shared his sight. Joshua adopted him, becoming a father, mentor, and guide. For over a decade, he trained Chris in philosophy, history, literature, and martial arts—preparing him for a destiny Chris didn’t yet understand.

Then, without warning, Joshua vanished.

After a year of fruitless searching for him, Chris is lost and furious. A street fight lands him in jail, where he hears whispers of The Pit—an underground fight club where pain is currency.

With nothing left to lose, Chris enters the ring, and unknowingly steps into his true calling as an Arbiter—a guardian of reality itself.

Angelo Leonatti

Age:

32

Height:

Eyes:

Hair:

Dark Brown

Occupation:

Owner of The Velvet Fang

Angelo Leonatti is the sole heir to the Leonatti Consortium, a sprawling, family-run empire that controls nearly half of Caligo City’s infrastructure—from transit systems and telecommunications to energy and surveillance. But the Leonatti influence doesn’t stop at business. Their reach extends deep into politics, law enforcement, and media, shaping the city from the shadows.

Angelo owns and operates The Velvet Fang, a stylish jazz club nestled in the heart of the city. Known for its moody atmosphere and world-class performances, the club is a haven for local musicians and a hub for cultural philanthropy. Angelo often takes the stage himself, playing trumpet with surprising soul and skill. He funds music education programs and art charities, earning him a reputation as a modern Renaissance man.

Beneath the velvet and brass of the club lies The Pit—an illegal underground fight club known only to the criminal underworld and the city’s elite. Here, gangs settle scores, criminals are punished, and brutal entertainment is served to wealthy spectators in private viewing rooms. The Pit is a pressure valve for the city’s chaos, and Angelo is its master of ceremonies.

While his father, Vittorio Leonatti, is a cold, reclusive patriarch who avoids the spotlight, Angelo is his charismatic opposite. He thrives in front of cameras, shaking hands with politicians by day and rubbing elbows with artists by night.

Angelo is a man of masks. In public, he’s charming, cultured, and disarmingly warm. In private, he’s calculating, ruthless, and always ten steps ahead. He believes in control—of image, of power, of people. Whether he’s a villain, an ally, or something in between depends entirely on who’s watching… and what he wants.

Victoria Jean Myrrh

{

Age:

21

Height:

5'6''

Eyes:

Green

Hair:

Blonde

Occupation:

Investigative Photographer

Victoria Jean Myrrh is very warm-hearted, deeply principled, and quietly fearless. She’s the kind of person who doesn’t need to shout to be heard—her work speaks volumes.

While she shares Chris’s pain over Joshua’s disappearance, she chose a different path: to expose the rot in Caligo City, not fight it with fists, but with facts.

She was adopted as a baby by Joshua, the same man who raised her older brother, Christian. Unlike Chris, Victoria has no memory of her biological parents—and no desire to know them. To her, Joshua was everything: father, teacher, protector, and the foundation of the only family she ever needed.

Joshua raised Victoria with a different purpose in mind. While Chris was trained in combat and ancient knowledge, Victoria was given a world-class education with a focus on art, photography, and critical thinking. She quickly developed a sharp eye and a sharper mind, using her lens to capture truth in a city built on lies. After helping Chris search for Joshua, Victoria eventually accepted his absence and channeled her grief into purpose.

Under the alias Zeteo, she launched a wildly popular underground podcast called Caligo City Night Light, where she exposes corruption, crime, and conspiracy. Her work—fueled by anonymous tips, whistleblowers, and her own investigative photography—has led to real arrests and real change. Outside of Chris, no one knows Zeteo’s true identity.

Steve Douglas

Age:

28

Height:

5'10''

Eyes:

Brown

Hair:

Dirty Blonde

Occupation:

Police Officer

Steve Douglas is a rare breed in Caligo City—a cop who chose to transfer in. Born and raised in the American heartland, Steve grew up with a strong moral compass, a deep sense of justice, and a belief that one person can make a difference. Steve is idealistic, brave, and quietly stubborn. He’s not naive—he knows the system is broken—but he believes in fighting for what’s right anyway. He’s a good listener, a loyal friend, and someone who doesn’t back down when things get ugly. His honesty makes him enemies, but also earns him respect from those who still have a conscience.

While most officers in Caligo are looking for a way out, Steve came in with purpose. That purpose was inspired by a voice in the dark: Zeteo, the anonymous host of the underground podcast Caligo City Night Light. Her fearless reporting on corruption and injustice lit a fire in Steve, and when he arrived in the city, he made it his mission to find her.

After transferring to Caligo, Steve quickly made enemies among the city’s corrupt officers. But he also found an unexpected ally: Victoria Jean Myrrh.

David Myrrh

Age:

38

Height:

5'11''

Eyes:

Brown

Hair:

Black

Occupation:

Physician / Surgeon

David Myrrh is the most grounded and responsible of the Myrrh siblings. He’s rational, protective, and deeply loyal—but also prone to being overbearing. His need for control and perfection, a scar left by his father, often puts him at odds with Chris and Victoria, who tend to keep him in the dark about their more dangerous pursuits.

Despite his success, David still wrestles with the ghost of Xavier’s disapproval, driving him to work harder, be better, and protect those he loves—sometimes to a fault.

David is the eldest of Joshua’s adopted children and the first to be brought into the fold. His biological father, Xavier Mor, was a renowned tech innovator—brilliant, wealthy, and emotionally distant.

After the death of David’s mother, Xavier became cold and hypercritical, pushing David to intellectual extremes while withholding affection.

At age 13, David ran away from home, feeling like a failure in the eyes of a man who only valued perfection. Joshua found him on the streets of Caligo City and offered him something he’d never had: unconditional love and belonging. Under Joshua’s care, David flourished.

Recognizing his natural intellect and compassion, Joshua guided him toward medicine, and David embraced it fully—becoming a respected physician and building a family of his own

David is a practicing physician, husband, and father of two. Though he was the least disrupted by Joshua’s disappearance on the surface, the loss still haunts him. He channels his grief into his work and his family, but he keeps a close—if sometimes judgmental—eye on Chris and Victoria.

He may not be an Arbiter, but his knowledge, medical skills, and emotional insight make him an invaluable part of the story.

Joshua Myrrh

Age:

N/A

Height:

6'2''

Eyes:

Steel Blue

Hair:

Silver & Black

Occupation:

Scholar

Joshua Myrrh is the enigmatic patriarch of the Myrrh family and the man who shaped the destinies of David, Christian, and Victoria. Little is known about his origins, but his knowledge of ancient history, philosophy, and the supernatural suggests a life far longer and deeper than he lets on.

One day, without warning, Joshua vanished. No note; No trace. Just gone. His disappearance shattered the fragile balance of the family. Each child responded differently: Chris with rage, Victoria with resolve, David with quiet grief. Whether Joshua is dead, trapped, or operating from the shadows remains a mystery.
